Our Founder Luna Simpson is a native of Jacksonville,Florida yet Raised in Brooklyn,NY. Luna is a Sickle Cell Warrior, Healer, & Women’s empowerment Activist. Luna is committed to elevation & empowerment of Black women. Luna goal is to transition Black Coochie Matter into a movement that will Host event, provide community relief, & hold safe space for all Black Women of the diaspora to network & rise in their power.
Luna quotes: As a Black Women me creating this movement was me reclaiming & reaffirming my power. I created this moment at the lowest point of my life!! I was pregnant & homeless, during a pandemic. I felt so small & insignificant, So reclaiming my power was my highest priority.
Black Coochie Matter encompasses the entire spectrum of Black Women hood & Identity. BCM isn’t exclusive to any particular type of black Women. Black Mothers Matter, Black Trans -Women Matter, Black Sex workers matter, our Anatomy & our voices Matters periodt!
Black Coochie Matter is a double Entendre meaning - Black Coochies Matter Yes!!
Also Black Coochie Matter as in energy/Space because we are taking up the space that’s ours.
